FCUSD offers you the opportunity to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Through HealthEquity/WageWorks. An FSA helps you save money on healthcare and dependent care expenses by paying for eligible expenses with tax-free dollars. FSAs work like a savings account.

Here's How You Save:
  1. During your benefits enrollment, you choose a pre-tax payroll deduction that is deposited into your FSA.
  2. The amount of the pre-tax payroll deduction is deducted from your paycheck before federal, state, local and Social Security taxes are withheld.
  3. Eligible expenses are reimbursed from your account(s), and the money is not taxed.
Debit Card:
You will receive a debit card from HealthEquity to use for qualified medical expenses. If you pay out-of-pocket for an eligible expense, you may submit a claim for reimbursement using the "Pay Me Back Claim Form". You will not receive a debit card for Dependent Care.

Grace Period:
If you have not used all of your Healthcare FSA dollars by the end of the plan year (August 31), you may continue to submit claims for eligible expenses incurred during the plan year until November 15. Any unused dollars at the end of the grace period will be forfeited.

Administrative Fees:
There is a $3.85/month fee associated with your account. The fee is the same whether you have one or both of the FSAs and will be deducted from your paycheck on a post-tax basis. If you do not re-enroll, lose benefit eligibility, or separate from employment, you may incur an additional three months of fees due to the grace period. (*All fees are adjusted to your pay schedule.*)
