COVID-19 update: School closures


  • As an ongoing proactive measure to slow the spread of COVID-19, all Sacramento County school districts are extending school closures through May 1, 2020. This is a unified decision made in consultation with Sacramento County Public Health and in collaboration with school district leaders throughout Sacramento County. During the extended closure, plans for distance learning and meal service will continue as planned.

    Pending further direction from the Governor or Sacramento County Public Health, Folsom Cordova schools are scheduled to reopen Monday, May 4, 2020.

    Parents / student-athletes and coaches,

    To date, there are no confirmed staff or student cases of COVID-19 in Folsom Cordova schools. Thank you for your patience as we and all schools throughout California work to respond as quickly as possible to a rapidly evolving issue with the best information we have from expert agencies. 

    The Governor’s Office earlier today directed public agencies to follow updated public health guidance, including restrictions on public events and large gatherings (250+ participants) to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect community health.

    Our top priority is the health and safety of our students, staff, families and community members.  We respectfully ask your assistance by following these guidelines. Note:  These measures will be in effect through April 13, 2020 (including Spring Break) and will be modified or extended based on guidance from public health officials.

    School/district-sponsored events (March 13-April 13, 2020): 

    At this time, school and District-sponsored events scheduled through April 13, 2020 will be postponed or cancelled. If events cannot be cancelled or postponed, total attendees must be restricted to under 250, and appropriate social distancing measures must be in place. 

    Events include, but are not limited to: 

    • Athletic events (practices and games)
    • Visual and performing arts events 
    • Assemblies and/or extracurricular related events 
    • Open Houses
    • Banquets
    • PTA/PTO/Booster events 
    • Student-organized events including those organized by SAB and school clubs 
    • Dances/proms
    • Tryouts
    • Science Fairs

    Please know that our surrounding districts and schools are also following similar guidelines, thank you for understanding and for your support.

    January 31st-Choice forms are due (to HOME SCHOOL) January 31st

    School Choice Form 2020-2021

    February 1st- Power School Enrollment -on line registration (Info Snap) opens for the 2020/2021 school year.(Current students only)

    February 10th- STEM information Meeting (Parents only) 6:00-7:00 

    February 12th- Parent Orientation Night of 6th grade and new students  5:30-6:30 and 7:00-8:00 (only need to attend one) 

    February 13th- 6th and 7th graders will receive their course selection forms

    February 14th- Power School On Line Registration (Info Snap) for current students closes ( students will not receive a schedule until this is completed)

    February 20th- Course selection forms due

    February 24th- FHS will be giving out registration packets to 8th graders

    February 26th- VDL will be giving out registration packets to 8th graders

    March 2nd- students residing in SMS boundaries but NOT attending a FCUSD school- registration available

    March 9/10- FHS registration due /meet with counselors from FHS during English Class (STUDENTS ONLY) 

    March 13th- VDL registration due/meet with counselors from VDL (STUDENTS ONLY)

  • Student Athletes: A physical must be completed and turned in to the coach before starting tryouts for all sports.  Your online Athletic Clearance needs to be completed as well at AthleticClearance.com.  Please see the Sutter Middle School Athletics page for more information and to download a copy of the physical form to be signed by your doctor.

Sign In Notice

  • NOTICE:All parents and visitors must sign in at the front office prior to traveling on campus. Also a reminder that if you are dropping your student off late they must come to the office for a pass and a parent must accompany them into the office, send a note or phone the office in order for the late arrival to be cleared.
