Government and Economics Newsletter #7

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My apologies on the delay in sending this newsletter! It was a busy - and very fun - homecoming week last week! Seeing the students in spirit and happy to be at school was a treat. What a superb class of Eagle seniors we have.

Last week, we took our Unit 2 test on Monday, then began Unit 3 and learned about gerrymandering and practiced creating congressional district maps and analyzing sources.

Shoutouts to Hannah Hohloch, Jayden Reitmeyer, and Ally Carrera for great writing on the Unit 2 test, and Colin Viers and Remy LaPord for the Unit 3 multiple choice. I'm really proud of all these amazing Eagles here at Vista!

This week, we will learn about Congressional Processes, Committees, and the filibuster. Students will dig into and the textbook and online resources to create their Bill to Law Roadmaps

The next test is the Government final which is mostly Unit 3, with some Unit 1 and 2. It'll be Oct 7th, and students can best study by explaining the concepts on the study guide out loud without looking at notes.

In case email isn't the best method of reaching you, these newsletters are also on my Vista teacher website.

Thank you for entrusting me with teaching your child. Please don't hesitate to email me with any concerns.

Have a great week.
