Our garden is growing like crazy. I was in OR for three weeks visiting my daughter and family, and while I was away, my garden volunteers kept an eye on the garden. When I returned it was 107 degrees, a big difference from Portland. I was shocked to see how much the squash, sweet peas, tomatoes, zinnias (all volunteers), strawberries, sunflowers and pumpkin vines had grown. Also, there were so many weeds!! Bad new is that our garden shed was once again vandalized to a point where they literally tore the door off the frame. What a shame. I have put all the gardening supplies in the school for the summer with the help of our head custodian Jeannie. The good news is that we now have a green house and planting table in the Kinder/Preschool area. I can't wait to use it with the students when it gets cooler. Thank you again to everybody who has been involved with the garden, I really appreciate your help. Come out and harvest some tomatoes, strawberries and squash.
