Folsom High will be hosting the USA Physics Olympiad in 2021 for the second time ever! We are inviting all Bulldogs to participate since the Olympiad will be hosted online this year.
The USA Physics Olympiad is a nationwide academic competition for high school students with an interest in physics. The Olympiad consists of three distinct levels: the introductory F=ma exam, the Physics Olympiad itself, and the USA Physics Team (which competes in the International Physics Olympiad). The F=ma is a 75-minute, 25-question exam which tests kinematics concepts taught in all high school physics courses. High scorers in the F=ma exam advance to the more difficult USA Physics Olympiad, and the top 20 students are then selected for the USA Physics Team.
This year, the F=ma exam will be hosted online on February 18th, 2021. We encourage your students to register for the exam as an opportunity for them to hone their problem-solving skills and demonstrate a passion for physics to colleges. The registration deadline is January 18th, and the cost to participate is $15 per student (all proceeds go directly towards paying the Olympiad registration fees). Students can register online using our Google Form here: https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2fforms.gle%2fk2GkjHkvBNnVcQ9D7.&c=E,1,VX8ZpeVKvMm_x418VaxIwtf22Nhf5aZI34aNrvTq_5E5fMy0PK7COa3ajSyGiZauIeVR6vp9gJINgNGgFBUOMyWizCdb9w2oy53y5x5_GVff6xs4OjCV&typo=1 In addition, you can find more information about the Olympiad here: https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https%3a%2f%2faapt.org%2fCommon%2fforstudents.cfm.&c=E,1,ScdZGfCsp1NUS3YCE_uB4AKdtM4VPag4CA1TJQf0g_Q8IYfEXnn2spxpfwqhM5HD8fQKC4T7DCkirP9hFqN2cgI6SixAcSsebjXndvrqqk_fbAWd&typo=1
