CLUBS AND CLASS MEETINGS
The Future Health Professionals Club is having a meeting today after school in room A201. There will be a guest speaker coming to talk about a volunteer opportunity at Prairie City Landing.
Attention all GPS students – If you are in need of service hours, Global Outreach is holding a service event on today in A206, in support of Folsom’s Murer House Camellia Day Celebration.
The Yoga Club meets today at LEAP Yoga right after school.
The VENT Club is meeting today from 3:10-4:10 p.m. in P9.
National Honor Society (NHS) - The FHS Chapter of the National Honor Society is now accepting applications. The NHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership and character. Applications can be found on Mr. Nelson’s teacher webpage and due no later than February 28. Current NHS members will be available to answer questions tomorrow after school in Mr. Nelson’s room C107.
SkillsUSA Club is hosting a hygiene drive! Donate bathroom supplies, toiletries and cleaning items to support those in need. Products can be dropped off to Halverson, Bias, Johnstone, Goldman, Southard, Watson or Cavanaugh’s classroom.
ATHLETICS/DANCES AND ACTIVITIES
Students – Are you interested in playing softball? Softball tryouts start this week at 3:30 p.m. on the varsity field.
Valentine’s Day Grams are available for purchase during A and B lunches:
- $1 for chocolates
- $2 for a Crush Soda
- $3 for a rose
Valentine’s Day grams will be delivered during 4th period on Valentine’s Day.
Students - Packets are now available for next year's ASB officers. The available positions are ASB President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and PRC. The ASB PRC position (leaders of dog packs and rallies) is the only position that does not require one year of student government experience. Packets are due February 28 (no exceptions) and the election will be during both lunches on March 5.
Wrestling update - Congratulations to Folsom High wrestlers Julio Bautista, Toure' Hendrick and Matt Kovalskiy, who all won Sierra Foothill League Championships in their respective weight classes last weekend. Kovalskiy continues to climb and ranked #11 in the state at 220 lbs. Bautista is ranked #32 in all of California at 106 lbs. Folsom qualified 13 of the 14 weight classes in the varsity division to move on to this week's DI Section Championships. Folsom also did well at the JV level including league champions Kyle Hara (98), Legend Lincoln (106), Jordan Quitugua (113), Manav Joseph (126) and Israel Alfaro (132).

Students - The University of Idaho will be visiting during PAWS tomorrow in the library. Reserve your seat in Naviance.
Seniors- It’s time to start posting pennants and names for this year’s college wall of fame. Do you know which college you will attend in the fall? Indicate your college plans in Naviance or let Mrs. Reid in counseling know.
