FHS Theatre students perform Dr. Seuss stories for elementary students for Read Across America
Advanced Drama students from Folsom High presented Reader's Theatre of six Dr. Seuss stories to students at Sandra J. Gallardo and Gold Ridge Elementary Schools in honor of Read Across America Day for author Dr. Seuss' birthday.
This is the 10th year Folsom High Drama Teacher Tamara Mosier has organized and prepared her students for the Reader's Theatre for Read Across America Day at Sandra J. Gallardo and the first year she's brought the performances to Gold Ridge Elementary.
The student actors read and acted from Dr. Seuss' books like " The Cat in the Hat" and " Horton Hears a Who!" to name a couple.
Mosier said many of her students that performed attended Sandra J. Gallardo or Gold Ridge Elementary, so it was a nice way they could give back to their former elementary schools and promote literacy, as well as Theatre for National Theatre in our Schools Month.
It was clear the elementary students enjoyed their performances based on cheers and laughter from the crowd.
