New Leadership named at the June 23 board meeting

At the June 23 board meeting, new leadership was announced. Please see below for details.

 

Suzanne Borth: Assistant Principal, KHS/ PCDS

Suzanne Borth head shotFolsom Cordova is pleased to announce the new Assistant Principal for Kinney High School and Prospect Community Day School will be Suzanne Borth.

A familiar face, Ms. Borth has served the District for the last 20 years with the last two years as a Curriculum and Instructional Specialist, supporting TK-12 instruction as well as Professional Learning Communities. A data-driven leader, she has worked collaboratively with multiple departments that oversee Equity, Social Emotional Learning, and Mental Health to integrate these priorities into the instructional culture of school sites. She has been a teacher and International Baccalaureate Coordinator at both Mitchell Middle School and Cordova High School and has also been an Assistant Principal for Folsom Cordova’s Secondary Summer School in 2015, 2018 and 2019.

Ms. Borth holds a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, East Bay, and a Master of Education from Northern Arizona University.


Amanda Turkes MSN, RN: Coordinator of Health and Wellness

Amanda Turkes head shotFolsom Cordova is pleased to announce Amanda Turkes as the Coordinator of Health and Wellness.

Under the direction of the District’s Director of Health Programs & Services, Ms. Turkes will support student health and wellness programs. Experienced as a registered nurse in hospitals, she has spent the last six years in school districts, working with health staff and with advanced health technology to provide school-based health services. During these years, she has placed a high priority on health equity and advocacy and is excited to bring her experiences and passion to this new role. Ms. Turkes comes to us most recently from Roseville Joint Union High School District but is a familiar face, having been a previous member of Team FCUSD for several years. We are excited to welcome her back.

Ms. Turkes holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science, both in Nursing.

 


Kristina Royer: Director, Special Education

Kristina RoyerFolsom Cordova is pleased to announce that Kristina Royer will be joining our team as an additional Director, of Special Education.

Ms. Royer began her career as a school psychologist over 21 years ago and has had extensive experience serving students with special needs, at school districts throughout the region in a variety of leadership roles. Her skill sets include facilitating constructive communication between members of district leadership and community teams and guiding educational teams in the development and delivery of programs designed to foster the greatest student success. She is dedicated to “promoting opportunities for all students to be included with their peers from their earliest days as students.”

Ms. Royer earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Master of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Chico.
