Cordova High School Weight Room Unveiling the Power of Community Collaboration!

The Lancer community gathered for the Cordova High School Weight Room Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony earlier this month at Cordova High School. Leaders from FCUSD and the City of Rancho Cordova took to the podium alongside students who first advocated for the weight room at an FCUSD board meeting last year.

“Thank you to everybody, the city of Rancho Cordova, and the FCUSD, it wouldn't be possible without this. A strong mind creates a strong body and a strong body creates a strong mind,” Oscar Isaac Sanchez, Cordova High School Student, said.

Funded by Folsom Cordova USD and the Rancho Cordova's Community Enhancement and Investment Fund, Cordova High School’s newly renovated weight room is not just about weights and machines; it symbolizes our commitment to student well-being and growth.

“This is for all students who attend Cordova High School who are taking PE classes. Our students with special needs have access to the facility with a lot more equipment that applies to their specific needs,” Peter Maroon, FCUSD Athletic Director said.

From the inspiring remarks by FCUSD and Rancho Cordova leaders to the enthusiastic perspectives shared by amazing students – it was truly a day to remember.

Special thanks to the City of Rancho Cordova for their commitment to supporting students within our community. Let's continue empowering our students and promoting a healthy, thriving community together!
