Folsom High BRO program honored for tobacco prevention
The Sacramento County Tobacco Control Coalition recognized Folsom High's Bulldogs Reaching Out (BRO) at its 20th annual event for their efforts in tobacco use prevention among young people.
The event was held on Nov. 18. Eighteen BRO youth officers and three committed club advisors were honored for their leadership and commitment toward tobacco prevention.
BRO has nearly 160 club members, grades 9-12, who are trained as peer educators in tobacco, alcohol and other drug prevention. BRO members travel to FCUSD middle and elementary schools to educate students about the dangers of substance use.
