Mercedes Kirk, Principal of FCCCMercedes Kirk: Principal, Folsom Cordova Community Charter School

Folsom Cordova welcomes Mercedes Kirk in her new role as Principal for the Folsom Cordova Community Charter School.

Mercedes began her journey in education 33 years ago working for the San Francisco USD as a Spanish Bilingual Elementary Teacher. In 1991, she joined the FCUSD community and taught at Cordova Villa Elementary and Folsom Hills Elementary, where she oversaw the K-5 implementation of the innovative Project Lead the Way STEM curriculum at that site. Most recently, she served as an Educational Consultant at Folsom Cordova Charter School. Her educational leadership experience includes being the Summer School ESY Principal at Navigator Elementary in 2018. There she developed efficient systems to effectively manage all the moving parts of a school site.

Ms. Kirk is passionate about cultivating and fostering a positive and safe school culture with a strong focus on optimizing student learning. With a proven track record of fostering strong working relationships with FCUSD District, teachers and parents, Ms. Kirk is uniquely qualified to provide quality leadership at FCCCS.

 

 

LeeAnn ChildersLeeAnn Childers: Senior Network Engineer

Folsom Cordova is pleased to announce LeeAnn Childers as the new Senior Network Engineer.

A familiar face, LeeAnn Childers, commonly known as “Chilli”, will be moving into the role of Senior Network Engineer. Ms. Childers has been with Team FCUSD for four years as the Network Engineer in ETIS. She recently earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and maintains an Advanced Networking Certificate. She came to FCUSD from the private sector where she provided managed network services to 13 school districts and county offices of education. Prior to her years in technology, she joined the active Army at the age of 17, serving five years as an Intelligence Analyst and Special Security Representative and earning several medals for merit and achievement.

A FCUSD employee of the year for the 2020-21 school year, Ms. Childers is passionate about the innovation of education using technology, problem-solving, and maintaining security at FCUSD.
