Folsom Hills Elementary holds PTA Family STEM Night
The third annual Folsom Hills PTA Family STEM Night was held on May 7 at Folsom Hills Elementary, a Distinguished PLTW (Project Lead the Way) school where students learn computer science, biomedical engineering, and engineering.
This year the school used the District's ready-made STEM Night Station Tubs that our FCUSD STEM Lead Teacher Lari Powell created for schools to check out, along with the school's own materials like the 3D Printer, Virtual Reality glasses and Ozobots. One of the robots that 5th grade teacher, Stacey Ducat has her students build each year, was on display for demonstration.
Principal Shawn Lundberg, along with our teachers and PTA parents have worked together to bring STEM education and career readiness to our students.
Mercedes Kirk a PLTW Launch Master Teacher at Folsom Hills who helped organize the event said, " We are particularly thankful to Sutter Middle School's PLTW/STEM Academy teacher Debbie Krikourian for her students who volunteered to be "Student STEM Experts" and run most of the stations like real pros. They were amazing docents!"
