VIDEO: Folsom Middle raises awareness for Breast Cancer
Staff and students at Folsom Middle School wear pink every Friday in the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It has been a tradition at the school for the past seventeen years. 8th grade U.S. History Teacher Chris Matassa, is a Breast Cancer survivor and her passion is spreading awareness to help others. The school staff feels that way too. The staff at the school feels it is important to raise awareness by wearing pink and having conversations about it. "We have some teachers that are breast cancer survivors, students families have been impacted by breast cancer. This a a way for us to show support for them, " said Matassa. Students are also getting involved in spreading awareness and wearing pink on Fridays. Watch the video where Matassa shares her personal story of what saved her life. |
