Parent voices: Folsom Cordova families learn how to explore school stats
More than 50 Folsom Cordova parents and caregivers gathered together at Rancho Cordova Elementary on a sunny Saturday morning on Feb. 8 to learn about the California School Dashboard and how they can look up information about their schools’ performance.
The dashboard is an online platform that allows the public to see a wide range of school performance data including test scores, graduation rates, absenteeism, suspension rates, college and career readiness, and more. Information can also be broken down into student groups such as ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and more.
The Saturday event, one in a series of Parent Summit the District holds throughout the year, was also a listening session in which families shared their experiences, ideas, and concerns. Their feedback will be used as the District updates its three-year plan for supporting its highest-need students.
