Principal announcement: Alder Creek Elementary

Folsom Cordova is pleased to announce that the Principal for our newest elementary school, Alder Creek Elementary, will be Sara Parenzin. Alder Creek will open for students in the 2024-25 school year.

Mrs. Parenzin is currently the principal of Empire Oaks, where she has served since 2019. An educational leader in our district, Mrs. Parenzin has served Folsom Cordova for 22 years as a teacher and administrator in both Folsom and Rancho Cordova, at the elementary and secondary levels. She has led Empire Oaks into California Distinguished School status, has been an ACSA Administrator of the Year, and has held National Board Certification.

Preparations for Alder Creek staffing and implementation of programming will begin this school year. As such, Mrs. Parenzin will assume her duties as the Principal of Alder Creek Elementary after winter break, on January 2, 2024, and will work collaboratively with the Interim Principal of Empire Oaks Elementary for a smooth transition. The announcement of the Interim Principal will be made in the upcoming weeks and the District will keep the Empire Oaks community informed.
