New Leadership Announced August 11 Board Meeting
Carla Davis - Community Schools Specialist
Folsom Cordova welcomes Carla Davis, a former Folsom Cordova graduate, as our Community Schools Specialist.
Mrs. Davis has three years of experience leading, merging, and designing community schools in the San Francisco East Bay Area. She has previously served as a school site principal, academic coordinator, instructional specialist, and teacher in Sacramento and Bay Area schools. She is passionate about building deep relationships, school climate change, Universal Design for Learning, Personalized Learning, and Professional Learning Communities. Mrs. Davis will join the Strategic Initiatives and Support Services Team and work with the qualifying school sites to understand the unique needs of each community to support removing barriers to academic excellence.
Mrs. Davis holds a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Sacramento, and a Master of Arts degree from National University.
Andrea Rodriguez - Assistant Principal Cordova Meadows Elementary
Folsom Cordova is pleased to announce Andrea Rodriguez as Assistant Principal for Cordova Meadows Elementary.
Ms. Rodriguez currently serves at Rancho Cordova Elementary as an Academic Coach where she implements targeted instruction strategies for small groups of students who require extra supports for learning. As the school’s program monitor, she used data to engage in cycles of assessing, monitoring, and improving the program throughout the year to ensure positive outcomes. Prior to joining FCUSD, Ms. Rodriguez taught in Sacramento City Unified School District. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she spent five years at a Spanish Two-Way Dual Immersion school. Her philosophy as an educator is to “create a safe and collaborative environment” for students that “leads to continuous cycle of learning and improvement.”
Ms. Rodriguez earned her Bachelor’s in Child Development and teaching credential from California State University, Sacramento, and her Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of California, Berkeley.
Brooke Knight – the Payroll/Benefits Manager
Folsom Cordova welcomes Brooke Knight as the Payroll/Benefits Manager
Ms. Knight began her journey working in education over fifteen years ago in the greater Sacramento area. She began as an accountant for St. Hope Public Schools and most recently, was at Twin Rivers Unified School District where she was the Supervisor of Payroll and Benefits. For a period in her career, was also a member of Team FCUSD. Throughout the years she has filled many different roles with increased responsibilities within the Fiscal, Budget and Payroll departments of each district office in which she served.
Ms. Knight has always been passionate about supporting the mission of student success and finds joy in knowing her work will ultimately help all of our learners. She states, “the crucial roles in a District Office have an indirect but nonetheless critical impact on the staff, community, and most importantly, the students.” She is very excited to be back here at FCUSD and we are glad to have her back on the team.
