Oak Chan Elementary Principal Kat Bahry was named the 2018 Educator of the Year at the Folsom Chamber's annual awards luncheon March 22 at Lakeside Church.
" Folsom Cordova is filled with so many amazing educators. I have the honor of working with them each and every day. To be recognized by our district and local Chamber of Commerce is astonishing; words cannot express how truly grateful I am," Bahry said.
"I have had inspiring mentors and wonderful support. I am proud to call myself an educator. My aspiration is to fittingly represent my colleagues and staff members; celebrating their dedication, hard work, and tireless effort in making a positive impact on children's lives, " she said.
Bahry has been teaching for Folsom Cordova schools for 20 years. She started as a substitute teacher, then taught in her own classrooms at Cordova Lane, Cordova Gardens and Mather Heights Academy, until she became Oak Chan's Principal in 2015.
