New site administrators named for the 2022-23 school year

At the May 19, 2022 Board Meeting, three administrators were named for the next school year. Please read their bios below to learn more.

Africa Williams: Assistant Principal, W.E. Mitchell Middle School

Folsom Cordova is pleased to welcome Africa Williams as an Assistant Principal at Mitchell Middle School.

Ms. Williams was most recently an Assistant Principal for the Sacramento City Unified School District where she successfully increased attendance rates and parent involvement while working collaboratively with community partners to enhance student success. Prior to her administrative role, she supported students as a Counselor for Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District and Natomas Unified School District.

Africa Williams is a collaborative leader, reflective practitioner, and lifelong learner. She finds joy in researching best practices and designing data-based interventions to meet the specific needs of a school and its community. She is a fierce promoter of restorative practices to improve teacher-student relationships.  She is person-centered and solution-focused. Her professional practices have led to success with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and staff development. In addition, her experience includes working as a Mental Health Service Coordinator, Human Resources Director, Foster Care Social Worker, Court Investigator, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Group Home Administrator.

Ms. Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science from California State University, Sacramento. 

 

Christine Sonnenkreutz head shotChristine Sonnenkreuz: Assistant Principal, Sutter Middle School

Folsom Cordova welcomes Christine Sonnenkreuz as an Assistant Principal for Sutter Middle School. For the last 17 years, Ms. Sonnenkreuz has worked at Stockton Unified School District in a variety of leadership roles that include being an Assistant Principal, Teacher, Social Science Department Chair, New Teacher Mentor, and WASC Coordinator.

A compassionate, student-focused administrator, Ms. Sonnenkreuz advocates for the implementation of continuous improvement programs focused on raising student academic levels. Her experience in education includes serving elementary, middle, and high schools, and has worked with diverse staff and student populations. By building strong relationships with staff, families, and students, Ms. Sonnenkreuz has been able to improve student outcomes and sustain a positive school culture on campus.

Ms. Sonnenkreuz earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis, and holds two Master of Arts degrees from the University of California, Davis, and Azusa Pacific University.

 

 

Allen Sims head shotHugh Allen Sims: Principal, Kinney High School, and Prospect Community Day School

A familiar face, Folsom Cordova, is pleased to announce that Hugh Allen Sims will become the principal for Kinney High School and Prospect Community Day School. Mr. Sims, known to most as Allen Sims, has been with the District for 19 years and has been the Assistant Principal for Kinney High School and Prospect Community Day School since 2016. Before joining the Kinney and Prospect school communities, Mr. Sims was the Administrator for Mather Youth Academy and Opportunity and led both programs with great success. By implementing PBIS to increase positive school culture, suspension rates under his leadership were decreased over six years by an average of 55%.  His vision for Kinney and Prospect is to create an inclusive, restorative environment where all students feel connected and valued.” He is excited to enhance the academic, behavioral, and emotional support programs that contribute to student success.

In addition to his many years of experience and advanced degrees in education, Mr. Sims served in the Armed Forces for nearly 10 years. He was part of the 82nd Airborne Division, Operation Iraqi Freedom, an Assistant Team Leader - Tactical Human Intelligence Team, and a Counterintelligence Special Agent.

Mr. Sims earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Phoenix and his Master of Arts from Chapman University.
