Community partners helped connect the classroom to the real world one recent morning at Theodore Judah Elementary, where a buzzing STEM Fair provided students the opportunity to get hands-on with everything from 3D printers to robots to reptiles.
Organized by parents and teachers, the school’s sprawling STEM Fair on Oct. 11 gave students a chance to discover and spark their imaginations through activities involving solar-powered electrical boards, seeing inside electric vehicles, motorized walkers, and more. Students also learned about precious natural resources through exhibits featuring small animals, solar fans and water education demonstrations.
Special thanks to the community partners who helped lead the event including Intel, CalISO, EV.org, SMUD, Folsom Zoo Sanctuary, City of Folsom’s Environmental and Water Resources Department, Folsom Fire Department, Folsom Parks and Recreation, Folsom Police Department, Micron, Nano Nerds, Play Well, Folsom Powerhouse Foundation, Mathnasium, Nature’s Critters, Mr. Code’s Wild Ride, the Auburn Canyon Keepers, Garnish Graphic Studio, and the Sacramento Valley Astronomical Society.
