Community Partners of the Year honored
Congratulations to FCUSD's Community Partners of the Year:
Corporate Partner of the Year: California Family Fitness
Faith-Based Partner of the Year: Oak Hills Community Church
Non Profit Partner of the Year: The City of Rancho Cordova
Partners of the year were honored at a luncheon on March 10. These organizations were selected for their ongoing commitment to student achievement and outstanding contributions to schools, student learning and family engagement.
California Family Fitness launched a pilot program at Cordova Elementary School called Youth Body Fit to promote student health and fitness. Employees volunteered with the district's Community Readers Program reading to students, and they held book drives at their gyms donating hundreds of books to students.
Oak Hills Community Church played a vital role in supporting families within our school district with their Strengthening Families Program. The program offers courses to students and their families to build strong relationships with each other and also provided meals to families that participated.
The City of Rancho Cordova contributed to student success through the Folsom Lake College Promise Program, funded by Measure H, The Crocker Art Ark, and various literacy activities and book donations, to name a few.
Lunch was catered by students from the Cordova High School Culinary Institute. Music was provided by the Sutter Middle School orchestra and flower arrangements, were made by students in the FFA program at CHS.
