School resource officer retires after 23 years of service to the community
After a 23-year career in law enforcement and most recently for the past two years as a Rancho Cordova School Resource Officer for 19 local schools, Officer C.T. Smith has retired.
Smith was best known for mentoring students and addressing public safety concerns. Smith served as a direct contact for school staff if a problem arose.
"The school administrators and teachers treated me like I was part of their team," said Officer C.T. Smith. "They dedicate so much to supporting each school, and I have enjoyed this position in my law enforcement career because of that."
"Officer Smith was a supportive and caring School Resource Officer for our Rancho Cordova schools, and he will be greatly missed," said Williamson Elementary Principal Angi Carlomagno. " Carlomagno recalled a favorite memory of Officer Smith playing football with 5th grade students during recess.
Congratulations to Officer C.T. Smith on his retirement and thank you for serving our schools.
