Where are they now? Cordova grad first in family to earn college degree
District Digest will periodically check in with FCUSD graduates to learn more about their goals and dreams
"My major at Folsom Lake was Nutrition, although it seemed in the beginning like it was impossible for me to settle down and actually pick a major. With the guidance of counselors and mentors along the way I had found my passion with Nutrition and decided to pursue it"
"I'm most proud of being able to say that because of Folsom Lake, I am the first in my family to get a college degree. I was successfully able to get my associate's degrees in Biological Sciences and in Interdisciplinary Studies in Math and Science".
"I am currently attending California State University Los Angeles after transferring in the fall of 2016. The transfer process was easy and helpful especially, since I had never done it before. Meeting with the transfer counselor Chris Clark before it was time to apply for transfer was very helpful because he took the time to go over any steps I needed to accomplish before being able to apply to schools".
"My future goals are currently to finish up my bachelor's degree here at CSULA in Nutritional Science. Once I am done with my bachelor's I would then apply to graduate school to get my master's degree so I can become a Registered Dietician".
"Any advice I can give to current students would be to take advantage of any learning resources available, whether it is tutoring services, reading/writing workshops and even office hours given by instructors"
