7th graders: Are you interested in World Travel? Do you want to help save an endangered species? Then Miss Mohler’s Costa Rican Science Adventure is for you. Yes it’s back and better than ever! Come grab a flyer in Room 309. This tip is planned for June 2020. This is a non-school sponsored trip.

All artwork from the year-end art shows is back in Mrs. Cagney's room. Please come pick it up before school or at lunch. Great job artists!

The FMS Library is hosting a Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge! Stop by the library to pick a reading log, and read all summer long! If we read the most out of any schools in the state, FMS could be featured in the Scholastic World Record book for 2020!

FMS students have access to free audiobooks all summer! Check out AudioBookSync to learn more.

Dear FMS Families:

Looking back at the last 181 days, we feel a deep sense of #JaguarPRIDE in what we've been able to accomplish in partnership with Principal Mahoney and the FMS Staff, our 2018-2019 Executive Board and Event Chairs, our students, staff, and FMS community in the school year. Our programs/initiatives go right to the heart of our FMS community of almost 1500 students and 150+ staff.

THANK YOU for supporting the mission of #TeamFMSPTPO and our efforts to make a difference at FMS!

LOOKING AHEAD: The quote "The days are a long but the years are short" also applies to Middle School! If you've been thinking about getting involved, please don't hesitate!

You will be working alongside our newly elected 2019-2020 Folsom Middle School PTO Board - please welcome them with a #JaguarROAR!

President: Jennypher Doan (president.fmspto@gmail.com)

Vice President: Adriana Azar

Treasurer: Aletha Bowman

Secretary: Jennifer Voldseth-Truppa

Financial Secretary: Kiersten Crowley-Brunt

Parliamentarian: Dale Waldo

Auditor: Shizuka Wire

In addition, we'd like to thank Kate Tretheway & Vanessa Moore who will be our Hospitality Co-Chairs! Thank you both for stepping up to serve in the 2019-2020 school year!

PTO includes YOU: We begin the new school year with a lot of UNFILLED SPOTS for our core programs. We've got a solid framework to build upon but we need HELP FROM YOU to make it happen.

If you've been considering making a difference at your child's school, please fill out our Volunteer Interest Formhttps://forms.gle/YvVzmKByQBhQ9CPY6. (Completing the form provides us with a general list of people who may be available next year when there is a call for help and does not obligate you to participate in any event. Thank you!)

  • Planning committee members/leaders are needed, especially for our very popular Color Run/Jagathon fundraiser in September, our two student social events (Fall-All Ages/Spring-8th Grade), and our Staff Appreciation event in May.
  • Membership/Outreach and Fundraising chair would also be extremely helpful to coordinate volunteers and seek business donations to lower the cost of running our programs and stretch our investment dollars.

What would our school be like without a PTO? Take a look at our 2018-2019 PTO Impact Report.

Our fundraising efforts fill in the gaps where our district dollars can't so that we can provide a more rich and meaningful experience for our students.

The success of our programs and the future of PTO depends on the PEOPLE within our FMS Community!

Please be sure to follow our Facebook page or sign up for our mailing list so you don't miss out on important news during the summer!

We hope you'll join us in the new school year as we continue our mission to make a positive impact here at Folsom Middle School alongside our new Principal, Terri Daniels, our FMS Students/Staff, and YOU!  From our family to yours, have a restful and relaxing summer filled with wonderful memories with your middle schooler(s)!

See you back at FMS in August!
