Leonardo Zamudio named as Assistant Principal for Cordova Villa Elementary
Folsom Cordova is pleased to announce that Leonardo Zamudio will become the new Assistant Principal for Cordova Villa Elementary.
With over 12 years of experience in education, Mr. Zamudio comes to us from the Sacramento City Unified School District where he has been a third-grade teacher at a dual-immersion Spanish/English school, Edward Kemble Elementary. In addition to his many years as an elementary teacher, Mr. Zamudio has also taught English Language Arts at the high school level.
Amongst his many achievements, he has worked to successfully integrate students with special needs into mainstream classrooms, been part of school English Language Arts and Mathematics Leadership teams, and was the Technical Support Teacher at his previous school site, after re-opening due to COVID.
Mr. Zamudio earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University, his Masters of Arts in Education from the University of California, Davis, and is a fluent Spanish speaker, reader, and writer. In his free time, he enjoys running. He was the Woodland High School Cross-Country, and Track and Field coach for nine years, and has been named the 2016 Sacramento Running Association, Youth Fitness Educator of the Year.
