CTE students are award winners
Students in Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways from Folsom High, Cordova High and Vista del Lago, participated in the prestigious SkillsUSA Regional Leadership Conference on Saturday, January 12th. Not only did they benefit from the valuable experience of teamwork, leadership and presentation skills, they brought home winnings! Our students earned a total of 15 Gold, 8 Silver and 5 Bronze Awards and many are advancing to the California State Conference to compete in 18 different events.
Students competed in a variety of subjects, including: 3-D Visualization and Animation, Cybersecurity, Extemporaneous Speaking, Early Childhood Education, Interactive Application and Video Game Development, Medical Math, Medical Terminology, Robotics Urban Search and Rescue, Quiz Bowl, Architectural Design, Computer Programming, Engineering Technology Design, Photography, Principles of Engineering Technology, Related Technical Math, Technical Computer Applications, Television (Video) Production, Web Design, Engineering Technology Design and Animation, Cybersecurity, Extemporaneous Speaking, Early Childhood Education, and Interactive Application. Wow!
All of our CTE students are involved in Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) such as FFA, FCCLA and SkillsUSA. These coordinating organizations provide industry input, enriched subject learning and access to career opportunities.
