FCUSD Homeless Student Services provides 200 backpacks to families in need

It takes a village! As summer came to a close, our Homeless Student Services team focused on equipping at-risk students with the necessary supplies to start the school year right. The team partnered with PowerSchool and a local Relief Society Organization to help set these students up for success.
Armed with a generous donation of backpacks, courtesy of PowerSchool, the organization filled 200 bags with school supplies, hygiene products, and clothing items that were specific to individual student needs. The group also donated additional school supplies to supplement FCUSD’s inventory for the event.
Last week, our FCUSD team hosted a drive thru event and gave away 96 backpacks to families in need. The remaining 104 backpacks will be distributed among homeless and foster youth in our District.
Thank you, PowerSchool and the Relief Society Organization, for investing in our students and families.
