VIDEO & PHOTOS: Mission #InspireTheFuture accomplished
Operation #InspireTheFuture, a partnership between the City of Rancho Cordova and the California Capital Airshow, dazzled more than 2,000 students in a special assembly on Aug. 30.
Students from our Rancho Cordova elementary, middle, and high schools were treated to a surprise landing by the Sacramento County Sheriff Department's Huey Helicopter at Dave Roberts Community Park. Many students and their families received free tickets for the upcoming California Capital Airshow Sept. 21-23, where they will get the opportunity to not only watch the show, but interact with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) exhibits involving flight.
During the Aug. 30 assembly, students heard personal stories of success from members of the U.S. Armed Forces and law enforcement officers. Students also had the chance to ask questions about their career paths and goals.
