What is CAC?
The Folsom Cordova Unified School District Special Education Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is a Board of Education, approved committee. The CAC is made up of parents, community members and District staff concerned with the needs of children with disabilities.
The goal of the CAC is to empower and assist parents of students with special needs to become effective team members in their child’s education. The CAC advises and works collaboratively with the FCUSD on special education policies, procedures, programs, and parent education in the Special Education Local Area (SELPA) as mandated by the California Education Code.
Why you should attend a CAC Meeting
- To stay informed on important special education issues
- To receive education, training, and information
- To have a gathering place to build relationships with other parents and with Student Support Services staff and administration
- To have your voice heard
- To help us create community awareness of children with special needs
