• logo Welcome to the Oak Chan PTO!

On behalf of the Oak Chan PTO, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our families, both new and returning, to the 2020-2021 school year. My name is Kim Jones and I am very honored and excited to be serving as your PTO President. I know there are many unknowns as we enter this school year, but please be reassured that the PTO is going to work very hard with staff and administration to support all our families and students during distant learning. This is a great area of the Oak Chan website that will keep you updated on PTO Events, volunteer activities and needs, and current PTO objectives. Come here often to find out what is going on at Oak Chan and how to get involved. The Oak Chan PTO is committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels welcomed and connected, as well as to support our community through organizing fun and enriching events. This will look different this year and we will need to be flexible and creative in achieving these goals. We ask for your patience and grace as we navigate what our role is and how we can continue to positively impact the community of Oak Chan.

We will make modifications to our PTO calendar of events and follow the guidelines from our school district. You will be able to keep up to date on announcements with our E-blast and through this website and our Facebook page. Some initial events will be canceled and some postponed for the Spring, but we will respect the rules given to us to help keep our children, staff, and community safe. The PTO will still strive to strengthen our relationship with families, support our teachers, and create a positive school experience for every student and family. We can absolutely do this by working as a team and being positive.

Our partnership will look differently this year, but I sincerely look forward to working together and making the best out of these circumstances. Please consider becoming a member of the PTO. Your membership fee will go directly to the students and staff at Oak Chan. We have lots of supportive, fun ideas and activities to share while learning from home. Your input is always welcomed and vital to the success of our PTO. Our first general meeting is Wednesday, September 2nd at 6:30pm via zoom. Please mark your calendar and consider attending. And if you ever have any questions or comments, please email us at oakchanpto@gmail.com

    Thank you,

    Kim Jones

    PTO President
