Make a Difference in a Student's Life

Volunteers are an important part of our school communities and play a vital role in supporting student success. When parents, guardians, and community members share their time and talents, they help create a stronger, safer, and more connected learning environment for all students.

Whether you are volunteering for the first time or returning to support our schools again, we invite you to get involved and make a positive impact in the lives of FCUSD students.

New Volunteer Requirement: Suspected Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training

Red exclamation point icon

Beginning July 1, 2026, California Senate Bill (SB) 848 expands mandated reporting and child safety requirements for school volunteers. Under this law, volunteers who are 18 years of age or older and interact with students outside the immediate supervision of a parent, guardian, or school employee may be classified as Mandated Reporters and must complete additional requirements before volunteering.

Volunteer applications must be submitted at least 3 - 4 weeks before any field trip, classroom activity, or school event you wish to attend. This allows adequate time for DOJ to complete background checks and notify FCUSD of the results so that we can complete the approval process.

To get started, review the options below and select the one that best matches your anticipated volunteer activities.
