A-G Requirements
The University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems require that students complete at least 15 courses in the areas listed below to be considered for admissions. Courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better. Additional coursework beyond the minimum requirements is strongly recommended.
The 15 required courses are:
- A-History: 2 courses
- B-English: 4 course
- C-Math: 3 courses
- D-Science: 2 courses
- E-Language other than English: 2 courses
- F-Visual and Performing Arts: 1 course
- G-Electives: 1 course
Comparing the difference
There are only three courses that are different between the FCUSD graduation requirements and the a-g requirements. This chart shows which three classes (white blocks) that must be chosen for an FCUSD graduate to ALSO be an a-g completer as long as all a-g coursework is completed with a C or higher. If a student is unsure if they are enrolled in the necessary courses to be an a-g completer, they should schedule a time to meet with their counselor to get their questions answered.
