Who We Are:
The Department of Attendance & Due Process and Behavior Intervention & Student Services is responsible for improving student achievement by providing support and services to schools and families regarding student placement, attendance and behavior modification.
The Department is Responsible For:
- Inter-district Transfers
- Assist families and schools to develop action plans to improve school attendance for at-risk students with a priority on early intervention
- Student Attendance & Review Board (SARB)
- Student Law (Education code enforcement)
- Coordinating and supervising prevention education programs for students and their families to address non-attendance issues that interfere with the student's ability to be successful in school
- Create systems that address behaviors and strengthens relationships. ex: Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Practices, for individual students, school wide, district wide
- Provide referrals to appropriate in-district and community resources
- Due Process hearings related to behavior
