My name is Ivy Monahan and I teach students with moderate to severe disabilities. We have a great class where we participate with our peers in various ways: we mainstream in music, lunch, recess, calendar time, and science and social studies. We also do what is called reverse mainstreaming, where typically developing peers visit our class and work with our kids.
We also do our own math, language arts, science and functional academics. The lessons are aimed at the students' Individual Educational Plan. The program is tailored for the specific needs of the students.
