About Me…
Greetings Room 108! I am so honored to be your child's teacher this year! I truly love teaching! This is my 15th year in education, with most of that time in Kindergarten and 1st grade. I taught two years in Alameda, seven years in Oakland, and the past five years in San Bruno. I attended Chico State and have an AA in Child Development and BA in Liberal Studies. My mom was also an educator for almost four decades.
I live in Citrus Heights with my husband and our two fur babies Ziggy and Blaze! We just got married in May and bought our home in April. This summer I did not teach for the first time in twenty years and took four graduate courses. Some things will be labeled Giovacchini (joe-va-key-knee) since I have not changed my name legally to Camouse (ka-moose) yet. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, swimming, professional sports, and attending live concerts.
I became a teacher because I wanted to help kids develop a life-long love of learning. School should be a welcoming and warm place for all. My favorite part of teaching is seeing the "light bulb" go on in students' minds especially when they accomplish something they felt like they couldn't "yet" do.
I invite you and your child to embrace each day as a chance to learn, grow, and thrive. 1st grade is a magical year of learning, fun, relationship building and joy. Your child will be valued and cherished for the unique person that she or he is. I look forward to this year together at Mangini Ranch!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Camouse
