My name is Chris Langton, and I am thrilled to bring music to students thoughout the district through the process of distance learning this Fall!
This year, I (with the help of a couple amazing colleaegues) will be be teaching music from Pre-Kindergarden all the way up to 5th grade at Empire Oaks, Cordova Gardens, Cordova Meadows, Gold Ridge, Mather Heights, Russell Ranch, and White Rock Elementary Schools. Please check out our district music website at https://www.fcusd.org/domain/836. If you have any additional questions or needs, please feel free to contact me via email.
Music is present in every part of my life, and has been for as long as I can remember! As a young child my parents enrolled me in piano lessons, and as a 6th grader, I began to play in the band as a trumpet player. I played in band through middle and high school, and in my last year of high school, I began to sing in the choir. After graduation, I attended the University of Nevada, Reno and studied Music Education, and while studying music, I discovered a new musical passion - opera! I continued to get my Master’s degree in vocal performance, and currently perform in operatic productions around the country (as my teaching schedule allows!).
My wife (who I met while performing with a professional marching band) and I have lived in California since 2017, and we love having an active lifestyle. Hiking, camping, traveling, working out, and eating good food are some of our favorite things to do!
Thank you for stopping by my page, and I’m SO excited to teach all of our students this year.
