• Hello Folsom Middle!

Teaching is my passion! I became a teacher because of my own interest in being a lifelong learner, but I love teaching because of my students.  I completed my undergrad at CSU Sacramento, and earned my credential and M.A. through USF. I am a GATE certified educator, but design my lessons to meet all levels of learners in my classroom. It is my privilege to work with middle school students as they prepare to transition to high school. Middle school is the perfect blend of serious academics and silliness, which makes me love teaching even more!

In order to support and maintain a positive learning environment, I focus on communication, collaboration, and community. Keeping communication open between students, parents, and the teacher is key for a successful school year. A safe classroom environment is also essential for an in-depth and authentic learning community. Using a team mentality and positive reinforcement approach, my goal is to help students feel safe and comfortable to share their own ideas and be respectful of ideas that may be different from their own. Through collaboration and resiliency, students will work together with others to have a successful year. I look forward to every school year because of the academic and social-emotional growth that students will experience, and the further development of myself as an educator.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy my time with friends, family, and pets. During most school breaks I like to travel. I also love to read, play the ukulele, kayak, paddleboard, and ride my bike. I'm also a regular at cardio kickboxing and trivia. I'm a proud nerd and fan of all things Disney, Harry Potter, and Dad jokes (including a few koala-tea puns).
