Math Challenge Test Information and sign-ups located below
The math challenge will be POSTPONED until further notice. If COVID-19 causes school closure through the end of this year the test will be rescheduled until early August 2020. We appreciate your patience. Please do not contact your teachers about the test as they do not organize or set this up. Questions and concerns should go to administration or counseling; At this time, there is NO FURTHER information to provide. Thank you for understanding.
Challenge Test Requirements (ALL must be met) to enroll in the chronological course progression:
CAASPP Math score at Standard Met or Standard Exceeded
A's in all 3 trimesters in their current Math course
i-Ready Math score at grade level or higher
Pass the Challenge/Skip test with a score of 80% or higher
*Students may complete each challenge test ONCE every 12 months in chronological order according to the Sutter Middle School flowchart (see below). If your student would like to complete an additional challenge test, after a successful score of their first one with a 90% of higher, please contact Mrs. Byrd (LByrd@fcusd.org) before the end of this school year (May 29th, 2020).

*Pre-AP Math Course 1 eligibility: If you're an incoming 6th grade student (currently a 5th grader at the elementary school) and you are receiving A's in math and are working at grade level according to i-ready, you will be placed in Pre-AP Math Course 1 unless a parent opts you out. Parents will need to email their child's future school counselor to opt their child out of Pre-AP Math Course 1.
