• Mission Statement

    At Hands4Hope, our mission is to inspire and empower youth in leadership and service. We do this by giving youth a platform to make their voices heard on issues affecting our community and provide them the opportunity to take action in their own way.

     

    Who we are

    We are non-profit, youth-driven organization based in Northern California; participants range from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Our primary objective is to enable youth to make a difference in their communities and offer meaningful community service projects combined with instruction and reflection, school-based clubs, and diverse leadership opportunities. Youth are able to decide their own level of involvement.  Hands4Hope is also led by a Youth Board, which is mentored by a Youth Development Coordinator.

    Youth development

    Youth involved in service learning programs:

    • Learn deeply about social issues and their root causes

    • Develop or enhance life skills, especially in the areas of communication, collaboration, and leadership

    • Capitalize on opportunities and hands-on experience to act on their values and beliefs

    • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills

    • Improve their ability to handle uncertainty, be open to change, and become more flexible

    • Connect with professionals and community members

    Youth Leadership

    At Hands4Hope we offer multi-level leadership opportunities to all youth participants starting in middle school and extending through to college. Positive Youth Development and Leadership Development methodologies are embedded in all Hands4Hope Service Learning and Outreach programs. More specifically Hands4Hope uses the Strength-based Leadership Method, developed by Gallu
