Welcome back to school!
Welcome to the new school year! We are excited to have you and your child as part our learning community. Gold Ridge is fortunate to have an experienced, dedicated, and professional staff. We are also blessed with supportive and involved families. If you are a new parent, we hope you will dive in and get involved. We think you will like what you find. And your involvement enriches learning and our school.
I am excited to introduce four new teachers who joined our team this summer: Daniella Castaldo will teach in our Multiage Special Education Program in Room F6; Lorraine Fowler will teach fifth grade in Room D4; Danielle McGrath will teach fourth grade in Room P1; and Nicole Vandermeyde will teach Kindergarten in Room G2. The four new teachers bring a wealth of experience and skills that enrich our teaching team.
This school year will bring a continued focus on Common Core standards and technology at Gold Ridge. We are excited to contiue our implemention of Benchmark Advance, the language arts curriculum adopted by the District. We will work on school wide themes as well as grade level professional collaboration. We will also continue to integrate technology, particularly Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, into both the language arts and math programs.
Out PTA is gearing up to play the lead on an assortment of enrichment and educational programs. Their first event is the Back to School Kick Off on Monday, August 7. In addition to school tours and orientation information, you can learn about upcoming PTA activities and how you can help. Vicki Aaron, our PTA President, and many other Board members will be present to welcome you and answer questions.
Our office is always open to you. Please feel free to call, email, or come in whenever you have questions.
At Gold Ridge we challenge every student to be the best they can be. We are delighted you and your child are here and our entire staff wishes you a terrific school year.
