    Welcome to 2020-2021 school year.

As we know this school year is going to be very different.  My hope for each and everyone of my students is that we make the 2020-2021 school year the year best that it can be.  We are going to have some hiccups. We are all going to do the best that we can. Know that I believe that my students are capable of accomplishing amazing things!

In 8th Grade United States history and geography course, students will confront the themes of freedom, equality, and liberty and their changing definitions over time. This course will explore the geography of place, movement, and region, starting with the Atlantic seaboard and then American westward expansion and economic development, the Civil War and Reconstruction, and finally, industrialization.

What our year will look like:

    • Unit 1:The American Revolution
    • Unit 2: From Confederation to Constitution
    • Unit 3: Envisioning A New America & Divergent Paths of the American People
    • Unit 4: Causes of the Civil War

    • Unit 6: Reconstruction
    • Unit 7: Industrial Growth
