Welcome!A Message from Principal ParenzinHello Empire Oaks Families! We are having a fantastic year so far at Empire Oaks. As we near the end of our first trimester, students are making measurable progress on grade level standards and significant growth in social emotional learning. We are focusing on character education initiatives, use of data to inform instruction via Professional Learning Communities, integration and implementation of Social Emotional Learning, and providing challenging and engaging enrichment opportunities for all students. As your “Lead Learner,” it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors—teachers, support staff, students and parents—is excited to be here! I am confident that we can meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing environment. Here are the presentations from the first two Family Partnership Nights:
I invite you to our next Family Partnership Meeting on Wednesday, January 15th at 5pm. We are rebranding it "What's Perkin' with Parenzin" and we will have coffee, tea, and a sweet treat for everyone. I will be inviting our friends from Vista del Lago to share Challenge Success with us.
"At Challenge Success, we provide schools and families with the information and strategies they need to create a more balanced and academically fulfilling life for their kids. We work with teams of educators, parents, and students at schools to identify problems and implement best practices and policies in areas such as curriculum, assessment, homework, school schedule, and a healthy school climate. We provide support to parents by giving them the tools to help their children regain their balance, strengthen their sense of self, increase their motivation and critical thinking skills, and learn how to deal effectively with the inevitable challenges of life. And we conduct, collect, and synthesize research, so that the public can make informed decisions that will enable all children to thrive."
Please plan to be there!I feel truly blessed to be the instructional leader of such an amazing school community where, “From acorns mighty oaks grow!” Thank you for your invaluable partnership. As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. My door is always open and I welcome productive dialogue.Respectfully,
Sara Parenzin, Principal
