Dear Cordova Meadows Families,
I am honored to be in my second year as the principal of the Cub Community. I am excited to build upon the partnerships between all stakeholders to provide a world-class educational experience for Cordova Meadows students.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than 24 years. In addition to being a classroom teacher for the first half of my career, my most recent experience was shaped by serving as Folsom Cordova’s English Learner Lead Teacher. In that capacity, I served FCUSD teachers by providing professional learning opportunities and instructional support to the twenty elementary schools in our district.
I am eager to continue to build our programs and to work in partnership with you to ensure each child’s academic success. We will support our district’s goals to provide all students with high quality classroom instruction and access to curriculum to promote college and career readiness. We will focus on PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) initiatives, Common Core State Standards, ELD Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards. We will use data to inform instruction through Professional Learning Communities and implementation of our adopted curriculum, enVision Math and Benchmark Advance ELA/ELD. We will also provide challenging and engaging enrichment opportunities for all students.
I am eager and excited to begin my second year. As a parent of two children, ages 20 and 15, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school-community connection. I am confident that we can meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive and nurturing environment. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you. My door is always open and I welcome productive dialogue. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am confident that together, we can continue to make Cordova Meadows a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow.
Marie Pawlek, Principal
