Dear Boys and Girls,

    I am so sorry we did not get to end the year with our traditional Field Day. I know how much you love it. I am attaching a Virtual Field Day Activites page for you to explore. It is located in lower left list on this main page titled Virtual Field Day. Open that link and it will open a page wiith instructions and link to fun interactive page.

    Weekly Focus for Physical Education


    This week will be REVIEW. Please choose any of the activites I have posted since March 13 and perform those skills. Choose something that may be a bit difficult for you and try it again. Choose something that gets your heart rate up and makes you feel invigorated. 

    Next week I will post a Virtual Field Day for you to play in. I am sorry we did not get to do our Field Day this year, but we will make the best of it.

    Weekly Focus for Physical Education



    This week all grades will focus on Water Safety. 

    This is a very important topic to me. I want all my students to be SAFE around the water. I was a swimming instructor and lifeguard for over 10 years. Teaching people of all ages to swim was  a passion for me. I still beleive it is one of the most important skills you can learn. Not only is it important to be safe around water it is fun to learn to swim to have an enjoyable physical activity you can participate in for a lifetime!

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Read through the activity booklets and watch the videos. Have a discussion with your family about how you will practice Water Safety. If you have a pool at your home talk with your parents about safe guards around the pool to keep you family from harm.

    As the weather warms and you head out to lakes, rivers oceans and pools-please keep in mind these saftey rules.

    All lessons, for each grade level will be in one place to left side of main page under WATER SAFETY. There are several links to videos to wacth and activity booklets to downlaod, print and color. There is also a link to the American Red Cross for parents to view for helpful resources.

    Weekly Focus for Physical Education


    Happy Final month of School!

    Although we cannot be together let's try to make the best of it by keeping up our physical activity and having a little fun.

    This week you will be challenged everyday to walk, jog while looking for different items from our scavenger hunt sheets. You can use the same sheet each day, or choose a new one each day. If you cannot get outside there is an indoor hunt sheet for you. You can also make your own and challenge a friend or family memebre to find the items in your list. 

    After you find an item on the scavenger hunt list, perform 10 jumping jacks. You could also mix that up with high knees, arm swings or any other activity that is muscle building or heart pumping.

    If you are able to, take pictures along the way or a video. If you can send to me. I'd really like to see you in action.

    Hello Happy Healthy Cougars! 

    I hope this week finds you ready for some more Stay At Home PE Fun!

    This week we will finish off the American Heart Association 10 Days of Activities on Monday.

    The remainder of the week I would like you to see if you can create an exercise obstacle course or series of activities you can do in your yard or living room. Don't worry if you do not have the supplies to create the course in the lessons, you can always just write it down on pieces of paper and create a circuit. If you do not have a yard, see if you can do a series of exercises in your living room staying in 'self space' - no jumping on the furniture. 

    If you are able, send me a video or picture of your creation. I am enjoying seeing the workout logs that some of you have sent in.

    Welcome Back from Spring Break!

    I hope you all had a restful break and are ready to get back to moving and eating healthy.

    This week I will provide you with 4 days of lessons and activities from our partner The American Heart Association. Last year we were able to have a school wide assembly where we learned all about Finn and being heart healthy. We also had an activity day after our fundraiser and participated in many physical activities. This year we were unable to have the event due to being out of shool. So we will participate  with the challenges through the daily lessons and activities provided to you here.

    Dear Cougar Families,

    I have updated this site with more physical activity tasks for you to complete.

    Please down load and print the Activity Log. Keep track of your activity.

    Print a new sheet each week. Or you may simply write it down on a piece of paper. 

    Check out the helpful Fitness Testing links and Workout Videos to add to your daily physical activity. Try to get 60 minutes a day.

    Since we did not get to have our American Heart Association event this year, there will be a folder with letters from American Heart Association for you to open and use the activities there for additional movement. They have lots of fun ideas for you and your family. Check it out!

    Dear Cougar Students and Families,

    As we navigate these coming weeks with Distance Learning I want to keep you informed as to what we are doing for Physical Education.

    I will be posting lessons, activities and resources for you to access here on my page. Each week I will post a new set of lessons for each grade level. You can choose your grade level from the menu to the left. Read/view  the activity lesson. Complete it and log it into a journal.  

    Check back each week for more activities and lessons. In addition to the lesson I will include enrichment activities you can try. Make it fun for you and your family. Try them together and challenge each other. 

    If you would like to keep a log of what you have done for Physical Activity, that would be cool. It can be as simple as writing it down on a piece of paper, keeping a calendar or entering it on the page I will provide (printable). Save it and bring it back to school when we meet again.
