About me:Hola! I have been teaching since 1993 and enjoy being a teacher. I attended CSU, Sacramento where I received a Bachelor's in Spanish with a minor in Portuguese. I also went to CSUS for my teaching credential and was a student teacher at FHS in 1992. In 2003, I went back to school and received a Master's in Educational Technology.I was born in Rio de Janeiro, in a family that spoke only Brazilian Portuguese. When I was six years old, we moved to California. Having to learn English for the first time in public school, I realized the importance of speaking more than one language!
In college, I found that I picked up Spanish pretty quickly, and I began tutoring other students. Soon I was helping high school students too, and when I saw how much I could help these struggling people, I discovered my passion for teaching! My ability to speak both Portuguese and Spanish has been a valuable skill throughout my life and has led me to where I am today.
Besides languages, I have many other interests and hobbies. I love the outdoors and enjoy staying active. Some of my favorite activities are hiking, riding my cute Electra cruiser around downtown Sacramento with my husband, taking my dogs to the beach and playing tennis, among many other things. If I have to be indoors, my usual activities are reading, cooking and watching a good movie. Why learn a second language?Read this article (click on the link):
