Welcome To Mrs. Geistert's Math Class
I'm excited about being at Mitchell again this year, teaching 7th and 8th grade math. I'm looking forward to working with your students and helping them be the best they can be. In order for students to be prepared for class, it is helpful if they have the following with them every day:
Each student has been issued their consumable textbooks that they should take and leave at home. Students can tear out the pages with their homework problems and bring them in for review the next day.Homework will be given out most every day, but only a few problems to reinforce what was covered in class. Homework assignments should be written down from the classroom board into your student's or notebook and are also available on this page under the "Week at a Glance" link to the left. Homework will be considered a formative assessment and checked for completeness. The homework will be self-checked in class by students to fix any errors. They can ask any questions. Homework completion will be tracked using Class Dojo and entered once per week in the gradebook as a formative assessment. It will affect their citizenship grade as explained in the Student Handbook.

- GOOD ATTITUDE ABOUT LEARNING!
If students need help with their assignments, they are encouraged to get help as soon as possible. Tutoring will be available during both lunches on Wednesdays in the Project Room. I will also be calling students into Sailing during Advisory on Wednesdays and Thursdays as needed.
If you need to reach me for any reason, the best way is by email. I can usually return emails quickly during the school day. If you would prefer to communicate by phone, please email me your contact information and the best time to reach you.
