Welcome To Mrs. Geistert's Math Class

I'm excited to be at Mitchell this year teaching 7th and 8th grade math. I'm looking forward to working with your students and helping them be the best they can be. In order for students to be prepared for class, it is helpful if they have the following with them every day:

    • math binder with paper or spiral notebook
    • pencils
    • eraser
    • highlighter
    • basic function calculator
    • good attitude
Each student has been issued a consumable textbook that they can take home. Students can tear out the pages with their homework problems and bring it in for review the next day.
Homework will be given out most every day, but only a few problems to reinforce what was covered in class. Homework assignments should be written down in your student's planner and is also available on this page under the "Homework" link to the left. Homework will be considered a formative assessment and checked for completeness. The homework will be self-checked in class by students to fix any errors. They can ask any questions.  Homework completion will be tracked using Class Dojo and entered once  per week in the gradebook as a formative assessment. It will affect their citizenship grade as explained in the Student Handbook.

If students need help with their assignments, they are encouraged to see me as soon as possible. Tutoring will be available in my room by appointment after school.

If you need to reach me for any reason, the best way is by email. I can usually return emails quickly during the school day. If you would prefer to communicate by phone, please email me your contact information and the best time to reach you.
