Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!
The mission of the Prospect Community Day program is to provide a safe and comprehensive day program that enhances personal responsibility and educational growth.
Our job is to support students in making appropriate decisions which will allow them to be academically successful. Students will return to the comprehensive setting prepared to be a valuable member of the community and have the skills necessary to be college and career ready.
We accomplish this through a comprehensive Positive Behavior Support and Intervention program, which includes classroom interventions, behavior support and counseling interventions. Students keep track of daily progress in three areas: Respect, Responsibility and Achievement. Students are rewarded for progress in these areas on a weekly, monthly and semester basis.
Academically, students study the same curriculum they do at the comprehensive schools. They have little or no homework, so attendance is critical as they complete the majority of their learning here at school. All ninth graders receive an additional period of math intervention each day and ten through twelfth graders have the opportunity to participate in an Intro to Metals and Machining course on the Kinney High School campus.
Although students are placed at Prospect through the district’s Attendance and Due Process office, please feel free to call or stop by to meet with myself, our assistant principal or our counselor for additional information about our program.
We look forward to a successful year working with your student!
