VISITOR AND VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES
We welcome parents to be part of our school community. We need your assistance to ensure student safety and reduce disruptions to classroom instruction.
Please make sure you are familiar with these school and district policies:
- Visitors must sign in at the office and receive a visitor’s pass on each visit.
- Visitors to campus during instructional time must have an appointment.
- ALL volunteers must be Category 2 approved (including TB and Livescan clearance) in order to work in the classroom, attend class parties, and go on field trips.
Parents dropping off and picking up students before and after school are not expected to sign-in at the office. However, parents dropping off students late or picking them up early should proceed to the office, not to the classroom. The office staff will assist you with late arrival or early dismissal. Parents should not escort late students to class or pick up students early from class. The office staff is available to assist you in becoming an approved volunteer and with any questions about campus visits.

Steps to Getting Approved for Category 2 Volunteer
- Obtain Category 2 Volunteer Application from the Office or download the application by clicking on the link below.
- Submit completed Volunteer Application with a copy of your negative TB test result (which is good for 4 years).
- Once this application is approved by the principal, you will be directed to go to our District Office for the live scan /fingerprints forms and instructions. There is a fee for the fingerprint service. You do not need an appointment for this; however, you do need your driver's license with you. A picture will be taken for your badge while you are at the District Offices.
- When your fingerprints have cleared (usually within 2 weeks) our district office will send Oak Chan your approved picture badge.
- Your volunteer badge must be kept in the school office when not in use. When you sign-in to volunteer in the classroom or go on a field trip, simply pick up your badge and drop it off when you sign out.
