Being an elementary school librarian for past 19 years has given me tremendous happiness and satisfaction in assisting students become effective and efficient users of resources, ideas, and information. The school library media program promotes a love of reading and is strongly committed to helping students become lifelong readers and learners.
The FHE Library / Media Center welcomes students for Library period in grades K-5 on weekly basis. All children participate in reading and research activities that teach them literacy and information retrieval skills.
Please take a moment to review the library policies.
Kindergarten – 1st grade students may check out one book at a time. The loan period is 1 week with the ability of renewal provided the title is not on hold by another student.
2nd through 5th grades may check out two books at a time. The loan period is 1 week with the ability of renewal provided the title is not on hold by another student.
Due to the popular demand of new titles, students may request a book be placed on hold and a notification will be sent to them once the book becomes available.
Any student with an overdue book may not borrow a new book until the overdue book is returned. Periodically, the library distributes overdue book notices to serve as reminders that the materials need to be returned. We do not charge overdue fines. Please note that the notices automatically include the price of the book, but they are not intended to be bills.
Lost or Damaged Books
In the event that a book is lost or irreparably damaged, the library will charge the family for the replacement cost of the book. Payments may be made in cash or by check made payable to Folsom Hills Elementary.
Enjoy reading the books with your child!
