    About Me       A

My name is Amber Heichlinger and this is my 14th year with FCUSD as a special education teacher. I have a degree in environmental sciences, a minor in biological sciences, and a master's of science in education. I hold a multiple subject credential, a moderate to severe teacher specialist credential, and an authorization to teach biological sciences. I have lived in Folsom for 25 years. I am married with two adult sons who attended Vista. Education for ALL students is my passion. I began teaching in general education and was offered a unique opportunity to teach a pre-kinder class with students who have autism. At the same time my niece was born with Down syndrome. It truly seemed like I was meant to be teaching students with unique individual needs. I spent the first eight years teaching at the elementary level in a special day class for students with autism. This is my sixth year teaching at Vista in the Counseling Enriched Program. I teach Study Skills and support students in general education classes. I LOVE my job and I am an advocate for my students in and out of the classroom.

I strive for collaboration with all of my families. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email. Please let me know if you have any concerns, questions, or comments that need to be addressed with more than a quick correspondence and we can set up a meeting.

    Sincerely,

    Amber Heichlinger
