    About Me

My name is Amber Heichlinger and I have been a special education teacher for FCUSD for ten years. I am married and have two sons. Spenser is 20 and in the Sheriff's Acadademy and Alex is a senior at Vista. I hold a multiple subject credential, a moderate to severe teacher specialist credential, and an authorization to teach biological sciences. In addition, I have a master’s of science in education. Education for ALL children is my passion. I began teaching in general education and was offered a unique opportunity to teach a pre-kinder class with students who have autism. At the same time my niece was born with Down syndrome. It truly seemed like I was meant to be teaching students with individual needs. I spent the first seven years teaching at the elementary level in a special day class for students with autism. This is my third year teaching at Vista. I teach Study Skills and support students in general education classes. I LOVE my job and I am an advocate for my students in and out of the classroom.

I strive for collaboration with all of my families. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email. Please let me know if you have any concerns, questions, or comments that need to be addressed with more than a quick correspondence and we can set up a meeting.

    Sincerely,

    Amber Heichlinger
