This is the start of my 16th year as a teacher and 14th year teaching math at Vista Del Lago. I will be serving my 3rd term as the Mathematics Department chair here at Vista this year. I have also been the Head Wrestling Coach here at Vista for 14 seasons. I grew up in Cypress, CA where I participated in Football and Wrestling during high school. I found success as a wrestler and eventually earned a scholarship to compete for UC Davis at the Division I level. After earning my bachelor's degree in Economics at UC Davis, I entered grad school there and earned my teaching credential in mathematics and a Masters Degree in Education. I also worked as an Assistant coach for the UC Davis wrestling team during that time. I love to compete and challenge myself. I still compete in wrestling and submission grappling. I have won 2 World Championships in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (blue and purple belt) and am a 4-time Freestyle Wrestling National Champion. When I am not training, coaching, teaching, or competing, I like to rock climb, hike, & mountain bike. My beautiful daughter Sophie Rae turned 6 years old this summer and my son Remy will be 2 in January. I look forward to being your math teacher this year!
